Join us in Helping Nurses: Kofax Donating Power PDF Sales Proceeds for International Nurses Day
While we are all doing our part to help control COVID, one group remains on the front lines of the battle to protect public health: nurses. To offer support for the incredible challenges nurses face, Kofax is asking you to join us in a giving initiative during May and June to celebrate International Nurses Day.
Kofax will donate 15 percent of all proceeds from May and June sales of Power PDF, its industry-leading document management software, to the International Committee of the Red Cross. The initiative will run through June 30, 2020, and includes all sales of Power PDF Standard, Power PDF Standard for Mac and Power PDF Advanced.
The History Behind Our Celebrations of Nursing
The United States marks National Nurses Day on May 6 followed by the additional celebration of International Nurses Day on May 12.
Why is May 12th International Nurses Day? Although the day was initially celebrated in the 1960s, the contemporary date was selected in honor of the birthday of Florence Nightingale. Known as the founder of modern nursing, Nightingale was an early advocate for enhanced sanitation practices, frequent rounds and other care aspects now central to healthcare practices.
The theme for this year's International Nurses Day is "Nursing the World to Health." You can learn more about the meaning behind this theme on the International Council of Nurses' website.
