Kofax Document Scan Server (DSS) Date : July 31, 2007 Version : Fujitsu fi-series (including the fi-4340C) Scanner Driver v1.80.001 Notes : This release includes the following file: Driver_Fujitsu_fi-series_v1.80.001.drv The driver is compatible with the DSS Utility v1.60.005 and the DSS Management Console v1.60.012. Description ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This release of the Fujitsu fi-Series scanner driver provides support for the Fujitsu fi-4340C scanner (without installed JPEG compression board) with the Document Scan Server. Known Issues with the Fujitsu fi-4340C Driver ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Duplex scanning in grayscale or color mode may perform significantly slower than the rated speed for the scanner. (SPR00029219) - Simplex scanning in color mode may perform significantly slower than the rated speed for the scanner. (SPR00029822) - Back-only scanning in grayscale or color mode results in an image designated as "front" instead of "back," as follows: - The image header XML element Side contains the value "Front" instead of "Back". - The name for the image file saved at the image destination contains the designation for front (F) instead of back (B). (SPR00020705) - Occasional image corruption may occur when scanning in grayscale mode and when scanning numerous documents in the same scan session, as follows: - Corruption appears on the right edge of the image. - A portion of or the entire image is gray, when JPEG compression times out. - A line appears across the middle of the image. (SPR00030798, SPR00030799) Note ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The scanner driver does not currently support the following scanner features: - Image processing circuit board (IPC-4D) - Imprinter (fi-434PR) - Video interface board Known Behavior of the Fujitsu fi-4340C Scanner ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Multifeed detection may perform inconsistently during batch scanning. For example, a multifeed detection error may be reported when an error does not exist. Or, an error may not be reported, or may be delayed, when an error does actually exist. If any of these situations occur, it may be helpful to power the scanner off and then on again, before resuming scanning.
