Kofax Document Scan Server (DSS) Date : March 13, 2007 Version : Panasonic KV-S1025C Scanner Driver v1.40.023 Notes : This release includes the following file: Driver_Panasonic_paseries_1.40.023.drv The driver is compatible with the DSS Utility v1.40.023 and the DSS Management Console v1.40.006. Description ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This release of the Panasonic pa-Series scanner driver provides support of the Panasonic KV-S1025C scanner with the Document Scan Server. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Note As a feature of the Panasonic KV-S1025C scanner, the Error LED on the scanner starts to blink following a predefined number of consecutive scans (such as 2,000) to notify you of one of the following actions: clean the roller, replace the paper feed roller, or replace the double-feed prevention roller. To determine the action required and to clear the error, you need to connect the scanner to your computer and run the scanner User Utility. The User Utility is provided on the drivers and utilities CD that accompanies the scanner. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Workaround for clearing the error If you want to avoid connecting the scanner to your computer and do not need to determine the specific action required, you can clear the error by using three custom scan profiles provided by Kofax specifically for this purpose. The scan profiles are: - Panasonic_KV-S1025C_CleanRoller.ssp - Panasonic_KV-S1025C_ReplacePFRoller.ssp - Panasonic_KV-S1025C_ReplaceDFRoller.ssp The custom scan profiles are listed in the order for which action is more likely to be required for your scanner error. When using the workaround, you can use each custom scan profile in turn until the error is cleared. To use the workaround 1. Download one, two, or all three of the custom scan profiles from the Kofax Web site. 2. Import one, two, or all three of the custom scan profiles to your Document Scan Server. 3. Scan a document using one of the scan profiles. (A single scan is sufficient.) 4. Repeat Steps 1 through 3 as needed for each of the scan profiles, until the error is cleared. 5. Remove the custom scan profiles from the Document Scan Server. Note: This step is highly recommended. If the custom scan profiles are not removed, the error will continue to be cleared each time one of the following occurs: a document is scanned, the Document Scan Server is restarted, or the scanner is disconnected and reconnected. The repeated clearing of the error may produce undesirable results with your Document Scan Server.
