Document Scan Server v1.60.x History

The Document Scan Server 1.60.x product was released on 08/06/07. These 1.60.x updates replaced the DSS v1.40.x releases and contained the following Document Scan Server updates.

New and Changed Features in this Release
This release of the Document Scan Server supports the following:
- Auto Discover
  You can now set the Management Console to automatically discover Document Scan Servers connected to your network.
- Updates
  You can now use the Management Console to update the firmware and scanner drivers in a single event.
- Additional Supported Scanners
  - BÖWE BELL + HOWELL Sidekick 1400u
  - Canon DR-2050C
  - Canon DR-4010C
  - Xerox DocuMate 262 and 272
- This release also contains the changes implemented by previous DSS firmware and driver releases

The Document Scan Server 1.40.x product was released on 03/16/07. These 1.40.x updates replaced the DSS v1.21.x releases and contained the following Document Scan Server updates.

The following Document Scan Server 1.40 updates were posted on 03/16/07.
- Document Scan Server Management Console v1.40.6 compatible with the following firmware/drivers:
  - Fujitsu Driver v1.40.023 for the Fi-5120C, Fi-5220C, Fi-4120C2, and Fi-4220C2
  - Panasonic Driver v1.40.023 for the KV-S1025C
  - Kodak Driver v1.40.023 for the i40
- Document Scan Server v1.40.023 (updated firmware/drivers) that supports the following:
  - Updates
    - When updating the firmware or scanner driver, the LED on the front panel of the Document Scan Server blinks to provide a visual cue that the update is in progress.
    - A restart of the Document Scan Server is no longer required when updating or removing a scanner driver, or updating the Hardware Default Page (visible when resetting the Document Scan Server). A restart is still required when updating the firmware.

Kofax Document Scan Server Support
The Kofax Document Scan Server Support group is comprised of two subgroups (discussed on the Support Options Web page), whose members are knowledgeable in all aspects of the Document Scan Server product, including installation, configuration, operation and development. Each group receives ongoing product training from our Engineering department relating to the general Document Scan Server product and their specific area of expertise. These groups have in depth knowledge of networking, hardware, and programming which they use when assisting all supported Document Scan Server customers.
