The Ascent Capture product name has been changed to Kofax Capture

Softbridge Index Scripts for various Kofax Capture / Ascent Capture releases

The Softbridge Index Scripts below are provided as examples. They may require modification to work with more recent releases of the Kofax Capture / Ascent Capture program.

  • ADOLookup v1.0
    (EXE, 3.42 MB) 8/1/98

The ADOLookup is an out of process ActiveX component that makes it easy to do table lookups to ODBC compliant databases. Read the adolookup.txt file (below) for details on how to use ADOLookup v1.0.

  • ASCII Lookup
    (TXT, 14.5 KB)

This example demonstrates the use of a small ASCII file to lookup phone number to get the first and last name.

  • SoftBridge dialog box functions
    (EXE, 31.1 KB) 06/96

This self extracting file contains two Microsoft Word documents discussing Softbridge dialog box functions. The DBFUNC.DOC (06/13/96) document discusses "Controlling Your Custom Dialog Boxes" and the DBFUNC2.DOC (06/07/96) outlines "Dialog Commands".

  • Softbridge ODBC functions index script
    (EXE, 30.4 KB) 04/13/07

This script was created as an Ascent 2.0/Softbridge ODBC Example W/O Q+E Calls. It demonstrates the new capability of the version of Softbridge that was included with Capture 2.0. It allows for ODBC connection using Softbridge ODBC calls, no longer is an external ODBC connection library needed. This example shows a quick SELECT query on an Access database. Included in this example is an uncompiled script, and a Word Document that highlights the code changes.

  • Multiple index data
    (EXE, 32.7 KB) 10/22/96

The script and document files found in this self extracting file provide an example of how to use the Softbridge dialog box functions to create a user interface that will build a multiple value index field (one to many relationship).

  • SaveAndSkipDocument example
    (SBL, 2.92 KB)

This example will show the modifications needed to utilize the SaveAndSkipDocument return value for KfxDocPreProcess. This feature is useful when index fields are either associated with barcodes or OCR fields. The "confidence level" for each such field is available via a predefined variable which will have the prefix "KfxCL". This declaration must be moved from the Index Field section of the index script, and placed BEFORE the KfxDocPreProcess function in order for the script to compile, since Softbridge is a top-down compiler.

  • Dialog box sample
    (EXE, 18.9 KB) 01/24/97

This self extracting file contains a sample which was created to show how the user can utilize a Dialog box to enter data into a field.

This document contains a working Softbridge Index Script that uses “Sticky” fields to carry values from document to the next.
