 VRS 4.2 Update for Ascent Capture 7.x with VRS 4.1 SP2 installed

This update is to be used ONLY if VRS 4.2 was installed over an Ascent Capture 7.x installation which 
had VRS 4.1 Service Pack 2 applied. 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

  The issue addressed by this patch was determined after an upgrade of VRS 4.1 SP2 to VRS 4.2.  Ascent 
  Capture 7.x was also installed. The problem documented below only occurs after an upgrade from VRS 4.1 
  SP2 (to VRS 4.2) when installed with Ascent Capture 7.x.   

  Subsequently, this patch is only required for installations using VRS 4.1 SP2 and are upgrading to VRS 
  4.2 AND are also running Ascent Capture 7.X.

  This patch is NOT required for Ascent Capture 7.x installations that are upgrading from VRS 4.0, 4.1, 
  4.1 SP1 to VRS 4.2.  Installations that are using VRS only (no Ascent Capture installed) do not require 
  this patch.

This update fixes or addresses the following reported issue(s).

1) SPR 35200 - During Release of tiff images, "FPS Color: An unspecified error occurred.  The image 
               could be an unsupported format." occurs after upgrading from VRS 4.1 SP2 to 4.2.  
               This patch updates a VRS configuration file used by Ascent Capture (KPMCOLPR.INI).  
               This file is commonly installed to the directory:

               <x:>Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kofax\VRS

MANUAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
=========================================================================================================

To manually install this VRS 4.2/Ascent Capture update on your Ascent Capture client, do the following:


***** NOTE 1:  Verify that a release of Ascent Capture 7.x was installed first AND that VRS 4.1 Service 
               Pack 2 was installed over the existing Ascent Capture 7.x installation.

***** NOTE 2:  Verify that VRS 4.2 was installed OVER the existing Ascent Capture 7.x/VRS 4.1 Service
               Pack 2 installation.

***** NOTE 3:  Terminate all running VRS 4.2 and Ascent Capture and ACIS 7.x related applications and 
               services.

***** NOTE 4:  Copy the self-extracting zip file to any directory on the workstation or server 
               experiencing this issue.

***** NOTE 5:  Double-click on the KCColPRUpdate.exe and wait for the update to complete. All updates 
               are performed automatically. Wait for the completion message.

***** NOTE 6:  Restart your VRS 4.2 and Ascent Capture 7.x applications and services.
