Introduction
This Service Pack applies to the Ascent Advanced Forms V3.8
SR01 Extraction module.
New Features
Service Pack 1 for the Ascent Advanced Forms - Extraction module
SR01 provides the following new features.
- A new property HeaderPhraseFile
(Column Node) for the Table
field allows you to supply a list of phrases for the table headings in a text
file.
- The US Invoice Totals
field displays an additional property Currency
that allows you to specify legal currencies. This field will only return found
currencies. Note that the US Invoice
Totals field will not return results for a currency that was not specified
in the Currency property.
- The Address
field has been optimized. The detection of addresses that span two lines has
been improved. You will notice a significant improvement when matching company
names that span two lines against a database.
- The Date field
will now read date values with month names in Dutch, German, French, Italian,
Portuguese, Spanish, Norwegian, and Swedish languages when the Language
property is set to the new value "WestEurope."
- The Invoice Totals
field has been extended for additional currencies. This field is now able
to detect currencies from 31 different countries.
- The InvoiceItems
field has been optimized for the dot separator, comma separator, and decimal
point within quantity values.
- The fields for the Invoice
option now allow you to read invoice header data and line items from Spanish
invoices.
- The FuzzyDb
and InvoiceVendor fields can
now be used as classification features.
- The FuzzyDb
field can now be used as the key field for the KeyValue
field.
- A new example has been added for the integration of Ascent
Advanced Forms Extraction into a .Net application using C#.
- Project specific color processing is supported. The program
IPPP.exe located in the bin
folder of the Ascent Advanced Forms Extraction installation allows you to
build project files (.ipp extension)
for the DOKuStar Imaging Toolkit. If you copy a new project file to the knowledgeBase
folder, it will then appear as an additional value for the Method
property.
- If the property Diagnostics
is set to "on" for
the InvoiceVendor field, then
it will display the data that was found and used for database matching in
the Design Studio.
- The new field BetweenKeys
allows you to search a field in an area specified by the key fields. Note
that this field is similar to the KeyValue
field, which allows you to search a value field relative to the position of
a key field. The BetweenKeys
field allows you to search a field in a region whose start and end position
are determined by two separate key fields, StartKey
and EndKey.
- The header section of the result file now contains the following
additional tags: the classifier
tag displays the classifier used during character recognition, and the codepage
tag displays the used codepage. For example:
<head> <version>3</version>...<classifier>de-DE</classifier>
<codepage>1252</codepage> </head>.
- A new function LoadXMLAutoRotate
in the DOKuStarResult26.dll
file loads a result file and rotates all zones according to the orientation
information in the header section of the results file. A new function ResultState
returns the global result state contained in the process
node of the result file.
- The image processing function Orientation
has been optimized.
Resolved Problems
Service Pack 1 for the Ascent Advanced Forms - Extraction module
SR01 resolves the following problems.
- You can now read all the text in the Timeout Settings
dialog box. In the previous release, the text was trimmed to fit the width
of the dialog box. (SPR 00022458)
- Line item data is now populated for customized document types.
In the previous release, when a Table
field was specified as a sub-field to the KeyValue
field, no table data was transferred to Ascent Capture. The table always remained
empty. (SPR 00024530)
- The ShareZone
property displayed by the KeyValue
field now works correctly. Prior to this release, when the KeyValue
field was used as a sub-field to the FirstOf
field and a global field was also used as a key field, the ShareZone
property did not work correctly.
- When a copy-and-paste operation is performed in the KeyValue
field, the copied field will no longer be linked to the KeyValue
field. In the previous release, when the copy-and-paste operation was performed,
it also copied the reference point of the KeyValue
field.
- The Address
field no longer stops responding. Prior to this release, when an index field
was added under the DbFields
node, the address matching would simply stop.
- When a global field is used more than once as the key field
of the KeyValue field, then
all the key fields will successfully return the correct results. In the previous
release, several key fields did not return the correct results.
- The Bar Code
field no longer returns "0 0 0 0" for the Zone
properties. In the previous release, when no bar codes were found within the
search area, then the values "0 0 0 0" would be returned for the
coordinates.
- An index field will now be processed when no attribute file
is supplied for an image. Prior to this release, when a value was specified
for the PageFilter property
for a field and an attribute file was not supplied for the image, the index
field would not always be processed.
- The Phrase
field will no longer continually search for a phrase when a very low percent
value is used for the MatchRate
property. In the previous release, the Phrase
field would execute the search an indefinite number of times when a low value
was used for the MatchRate
property.
- The InvoiceVendor
field will now identify the tax identification number on Danish invoices.
In the previous release, when the country code preceded the number in the
database file and it was missing on the invoice, the InvoiceVendor
field could not identify the tax identification number on the Danish invoices.
- The KeyValue
field no longer returns erroneous Zone
properties for empty field results. Prior to this release, when the FuzzyDb
field was used as a sub-field for the KeyValue
field, the KeyValue field returned
zone coordinates for an empty result instead of (0,0,0,0).
- The result zone for the FuzzyDb
field will now display the correct results for sub-fields that use field-specific
image processing.
- The Ascent Advanced Forms Extraction module can now successfully
return an empty result for the PhraseSet
field. In the previous version, when the PhraseSet
field was specified with the Occurrences
property set to the value "last"
for the sub-field of the KeyValue
field, the Ascent Advanced Forms Extraction module would stop responding when
the PhraseSet field returned
an empty result.
- Nesting of field-specific image processing is not supported.
In the previous release, it was possible to specify field-specific image processing
for the fields CheckboxGroup,
FuzzyDb, InvoiceItemsCustom,
and EndOfTable node for Table
fields. When illegal field-specific image processing is found in a project,
it is removed and a message is displayed.
- You will now no longer receive a fatal error message when
an expression is tested in the Regular Expression Test dialog box. Prior to
this release, when a Regular Expression
field was used as a value field for the KeyMultiValue
field, a fatal error message could display when the expression was tested
in the Regular Expression Test dialog box.
- The names of alternative value results are now correct when
using a global field for the KeyValue
fields. In the previous release, when a KeyValue
field was used as a global field, the names of alternative value results were
not correct.
- The Ascent Advanced Forms Extraction module will no longer
run in an infinite loop when corrupt TIFF images are used.
- The project description file (.ipx
extension) no longer has elements that contain an empty name. In the previous
release, the project description file would sometimes contain empty name elements.
- You can now successfully set the BlankSuppress
property to the value "all"
and phrases that span two lines will be found.
- The Ascent Advanced Forms Extraction module can now successfully
locate phrases that span two lines. Prior to this release, when the BlankSuppress
property was set to the value "all"
for the Phrase field, a phrase
that spanned two lines could not always be found.
- The fields specified at the EndOfTable
node in the Table field will
no longer display an erroneous ShareZone
property. The property is no longer displayed.
- You can now successfully see a new zone after it has been
created in the image processing function Erase.
In the previous release, when a new zone was created in the image processing
function Erase and another
node was selected, the new zone would not be displayed. It was only displayed
when the corresponding node was selected again.
- The Design Studio will no longer stop responding when changing
the ShareZone property of the
FirstOf sub-field. Prior to
this release, when a KeyValue
field with the FirstOf field
was used as a sub-field and the ShareZone
property was changed, the Design Studio could stop responding.
- Phrases specified by the ExclusionList
property will now be taken into account correctly. In the previous release,
when the Scope property for
the Phrase field was set to
paragraph or column, the phrases specified by the ExclusionList
property were not always taken into account correctly.
- You can now successfully use the ALPHA
and alpha buttons on the CharacterSet
dialog box. Prior to this release, if the Country
settings within a project were set to "Greece,"
the ALPHA and alpha
buttons in the CharacterSet dialog box would not work.
- The Phrase
field can now locate very short phrases. In the previous release, when the
Phrase field searched for a
very short phrase, it could not always find the phrase.
- The Browse button is now displayed in the Select Directory
dialog box. In the previous release, when the command "Create
Types & Classes from Directories" was used within a project
with a long path name, the Browse button would not display in the Select Directory
dialog box.
- The FuzzyDb
field no longer incorrectly contains the search area of the sub-fields. In
the previous release, when the sub-field did not return a result and the Significance
property was set to the value "optional,"
the result zone of the FuzzyDb
fields incorrectly contained the search area of the sub-field.
- You can now use the DbFields
field for the AddressUS node.
(SPR 00023309)
- The Cancel button on the IDIS Options dialog box is no longer
displayed in German text. (SPR 00024267)
- The Orientation
field no longer rotates incorrectly.
