Introduction

This Service Pack applies to the Ascent Advanced Forms V3.8 SR01 Validation module.

New Features

Service Pack 1 for the Ascent Advanced Forms - Validation module SR01 provides the following new features.

The CTRL+ENTER key combination allows you to insert a new line within a table cell.
You can now close a batch using Ascent Advanced Forms - Validation scripting.
A UserData object attached to a field or document object can now be transferred to subsequent Validation stages.
Leaving a table has been made easier. You can now use the TAB and ENTER keys to leave the table. Note that if data is captured for the last empty cell using Single Click Entry, a context menu will display with the commands Accept Field and Add Row. Select Accept Field to switch to the next field.
Unicode is now supported in a Single Click Entry environment.

Resolved Problems

Service Pack 1 for the Ascent Advanced Forms - Validation module SR01 resolves the following problems.

The Ascent Advanced Forms - Validation module no longer stops responding. (SPR 00020303)
The message OnDocumentDelete no longer appears after every zone. (SPR 00020987)
The Ascent Advanced Forms - Validation module will now run when .Net 2 is installed on the computer. (SPR 00021611)
When the Character Correction Mode feature has been added to a project, the Ascent Advanced Forms - Validation module will now successfully stop on any invalid characters and display an error message. Prior to this release, when focus was removed from the window, the Ascent Advanced Forms - Validation module would not display an error message for the invalid characters. (SPR 00022933)
When a table row is added to a multi-page document, the focus is no longer automatically shifted to the first page. In the previous release, when you highlighted any page other than the first page of the multi-page document and inserted a new table row, the focus would shift to the first page. (SPR 00023047)
An error message will no longer display when partial batch release is enabled and you have multiple release scripts in the batch class. (SPR 00023133)
When you attempt to load a batch that is already in progress at another Validation station, the "Batch locked" message will no longer appear behind the "Loading data" message. Prior to this release, the "Batch locked" message was hidden by the first message box.
Images no longer return to the original position while the SHIFT key is pressed. Prior to this release, when you moved an image horizontally with your mouse and you also had the SHIFT key pressed, the image would return to its original position.
When deleting a document, the Next Document property will successfully activate the next document. In the previous release, when a document was deleted, the Next Document property would activate the first document.
You can now successfully edit other fields within a table when an error is on an uncertain table row. Prior to this release, when the Field Filter Toolbar was set to "error" and the error was on an uncertain table row, other fields within the table could not be edited if the display mode was set to "certain Rows" on the View menu.

Installing the Service Pack

Service Packs for Ascent Advanced Forms Validation module are available from the Kofax Web site at www.kofax.com. Go to the Support | Downloads Library area and locate the Ascent Advanced Forms Validation 3.8 link.

Note that there are two Service Packs: Service Pack 1 for the Extraction module and Service Pack 1 for the Validation module. If you use both modules and want to install the Service Packs, you must download the Service Packs and run their separate installations.

In addition, Ascent Advanced Forms Validation 3.8 must be installed before you install the Service Packs. If you attempt to install the Service Packs without the required version of Ascent Advanced Forms, the Service Pack installation will not complete successfully.

To install the Service Packs, the logged-in user must have full administrative privileges to the local computer.
