Ascent Advanced Forms 3.6 Product Support Overview

AAF 3.8 Service Release 01 Service Pack 3 for the Validation and Extraction Modules are the latest releases of the Ascent Advanced Forms product.

NOTE: Support for the Ascent Advanced Forms 3.6x products will end on 04/04/08. The Ascent Advanced Forms 3.6x Web pages will continue to be available until 04/04/09.

3.6 SR01 Service Pack 2 for the Extraction Module History

Service Pack 2 for the Ascent Advanced Forms 3.6 SR01 Extraction Module was released on 10/22/04. This Service Pack applies to the Ascent Advanced Forms 3.6 SR01 Extraction Module.

What is new in 3.6 SR01 Service Pack 2 for the Extraction Module

This service pack release provides the following new features for the Extraction Module.

  • The Invoice option now supports reading header data from invoices from Denmark.
  • The Invoice Items field now supports reading invoice line items from invoices from the United Kingdom.
  • The Invoice Totals field now supports reading the total amount on invoices without value added tax information.

This service pack release also provides the following program fixes.

  • If the installation path of the Extraction module contained spaces, the timeout of the server did not work.
  • For certain images, character recognition went into a loop.
  • For images with a lot of small text, the "no space left in database" error sometimes occurred.
  • Index fields for the document type "Unknown" were not handled properly. (SPR 10353)

Service Pack 2 for the Ascent Advanced Forms 3.6 SR01 Validation Module was released on 09/16/04. This Service Pack applies to the Ascent Advanced Forms 3.6 SR01 Validation Module.

What is new in 3.6 SR01 Service Pack for the Validation Module

  • When attempting to use the Validation module without a valid license, unusual characters appeared in the error message and corresponding log file entry. (SPR 9580)

Service Pack 2 for the Ascent Advanced Forms 3.6 SR01 Extraction Module was released on 09/16/04. This Service Pack applies to the Ascent Advanced Forms 3.6 SR01 Extraction Module.

What is new in 3.6 SR01 Service Pack for the Extraction Module

This service pack release provides the following new features for the Extraction Module.

  • The Invoice option now supports processing invoices from the United Kingdom.
  • The US Invoice Vendor field now supports the DbLoad property with the byInit and bySigFile values in the same way as the Invoice Vendor field.

This service pack release also provides the following program fixes.

  • When processing high resolution images (greater than 500 DPI), errors sometimes occurred in Design Studio. (SPR 9464)
  • When attempting to use the Extraction module without a valid license, unusual characters appeared in the error message and corresponding log file entry. (SPR 9580)

3.6 SR01 History

The Ascent Advanced Forms 3.6 SR01 product was released on 08/01/04. This release contained both the Validation and Extraction Modules and replaced the previous Ascent Advanced Forms product release as the currently supported Ascent Advanced Forms release.

Kofax Capture / Ascent Capture Advanced Forms Support

The Kofax Capture / Ascent Capture Technical Support group is comprised of three subgroups (discussed on the Support Options Web page), whose members are knowledgeable in all aspects of the Kofax Capture / Ascent Capture product and Kofax / Ascent modules, including installation, configuration, operation and development. Each group receives ongoing product training from our Engineering department relating to the general Kofax Capture / Ascent Capture product and their specific area of expertise. These groups have in depth knowledge of networking, databases, hardware, and programming which they use when assisting all supported Kofax Capture / Ascent Capture customers.

The Kofax Capture / Ascent Capture Advanced Forms product's Technical Support group can assist with problems related to INDICIUS, Ascent Advanced Forms, Ascent for Invoices, Ascent for Health Insurance, and Ascent Xtrata Pro. They are trained on these Kofax created Ascent modules which are designed to expand on the basic Ascent Capture application.
