Service Pack 2 for the Extraction Module

This Service Pack applies to the Ascent Advanced Forms 3.6 Extraction module, which is certified for use with Ascent Capture 6.1.

Note This Service Pack is cumulative. It contains all features and problem resolutions from all previous Service Packs for this version of the Extraction module, plus some new features and resolutions.

New Features Provided with Service Packs for the Extraction Module

Introduced in Service Pack 1 (and included in all follow-on Service Packs)

• The Invoice option now supports processing invoices from the United Kingdom.
• The US Invoice Vendor field now supports the DbLoad property with the byInit and bySigFile values in the same way as the Invoice Vendor field.

Introduced in Service Pack 2

• The Invoice option now supports reading header data from invoices from Denmark.
• The Invoice Items field now supports reading invoice line items from invoices from the United Kingdom.
• The Invoice Totals field now supports reading the total amount on invoices without value added tax information.

Problems Resolved in Service Packs for the Extraction Module

Resolved in Service Pack 1 (and included in all follow-on Service Packs)

• When processing high-resolution images (greater than 500 DPI), errors sometimes occurred in Design Studio. (SPR 9464)
• When attempting to use the Extraction module without a valid license, unusual characters appeared in the error message and corresponding log file entry. (SPR 9580)

Resolved in Service Pack 2

• If the installation path of the DOKuStar Extraction module contained spaces, the timeout of the DOKuStar server did not work.
• For certain images, character recognition went into a loop.
• For images with a lot of small text, the "no space left in database" error sometimes occurred.
• Index fields for the document type "Unknown" were not handled properly. (SPR 10353)

Installation Instructions

Service Packs for Ascent Advanced Forms 3.6 are available from the Kofax Web site at www.kofax.com. Go to the Support | Downloads Library area and locate the Ascent Advanced Forms link.

Note that there are two Service Packs: one for the Extraction module and one for the Validation module. If you use both modules and want to install the Service Packs, you must download both of them and run their separate installation programs.

In addition, Ascent Advanced Forms 3.6 must be installed before you install the Service Packs. If you attempt to install a Service Pack without the required version of Ascent Advanced Forms, the Service Pack installation will not complete.

Note To install the Service Packs, the logged-in user must have full Administrative privileges to the local computer.

To install a Service Pack

1. Download the desired Service Pack.
2. Run Start.exe from the downloaded files to start the installation.
3. Click Install Service Pack from the installation menu.
