The following are required to run INDICIUS 5.1 and are available from the INDICIUS 5.1 installation start-up screen. During the INDICIUS 5.1 installation you will be warned if you are missing any of these components.

Note: If you wish to evaluate, demonstrate or test INDICIUS 5.5 there is nothing to prevent you installing it on slower machines. The modules will still run and function but at a slower speed.

* Models may be able to be built on computers with less than the 2GB RAM. If 'out of memory' problems are encountered during model building then the memory should be increased to 2GB. This memory requirement for model building is due to the size of the training set, it is therefore expected that this will be a requirement when building full models for production but not when creating smaller models, for example for demonstrations.


Production Unattended Workstation: Recognition, Scripted Export

Note: If advanced text classification and advanced document separation are being used, the memory requirements will increase depending on the size of the models.

Multi-Processor Support

Where multiple recognition engines are required, multi-processor computers are recommended. These can be used with an instance of Recognition running on each processor. The only limitation with this technique is that the voting engine is speed limited on a per machine basis rather than per processor. This means that for configurations using voting there will be no performance gain from using fast multiprocessor servers.


Production Attended Workstation: Correction, Document Review, Completion, Verification, Stats Reporter

Note: If conventional (CRT) monitors are to be used it is important to ensure that the combination of graphics card and monitor are capable of displaying the desired resolution without screen flicker. A refresh rate of at least 80 MHz is desirable.



Kofax Capture / Ascent Capture Advanced Forms Support

The Kofax Capture / Ascent Capture Technical Support group is comprised of three subgroups (discussed on the Support Options Web page), whose members are knowledgeable in all aspects of the Kofax Capture / Ascent Capture product and Kofax / Ascent modules, including installation, configuration, operation and development. Each group receives ongoing product training from our Engineering department relating to the general Kofax Capture / Ascent Capture product and their specific area of expertise. These groups have in depth knowledge of networking, databases, hardware, and programming which they use when assisting all supported Kofax Capture / Ascent Capture customers.

The Kofax Capture / Ascent Capture Advanced Forms product's Technical Support group can assist with problems related to INDICIUS, Ascent Advanced Forms, Ascent for Invoices, Ascent for Health Insurance, and Ascent Xtrata Pro. They are trained on these Kofax created Ascent modules which are designed to expand on the basic Ascent Capture application.
