VRS

4.2

VirtualReScan 4.2 is certified with Microsoft Windows Vista (Enterprise and Business editions, 32-bit or 64-bit).

To use VRS with Windows Vista, your scanner must have a Vista-certified driver. Check with the manufacturer to confirm that your scanner will work with Vista. You can use VRS with USB scanners in a Windows Vista environment, but SCSI scanners currently are not supported by Windows Vista 64-bit editions. You can consult the Kofax Web site at www.kofax.com for updated information related to operating systems and service packs.

4.1 SP2

VirtualReScan 4.1 Service Pack 2 is certified with Microsoft's Windows Vista 32-bit operating system. Service Pack 2 was released on 05/17/07.

The VirtualReScan (VRS) 4.1 Service Pack 2 update file for Windows 2000/XP systems can be obtained from the Service Packs section of the VRS 4.1 Downloads Web page. Click here to move to that Web page location.

In order to install VRS 4.1 Service Pack 2 on a Windows Vista 32 system, you must install from the VRS 4.1 Service Pack 2 full build, which is available on CD or for download by completing the entry here.

Kofax cannot qualify or address any scanner-related or scanner driver-related limitations due to the Windows Vista (32-bit) operating system. We advise customers to contact their scanner manufacturer for information on how their devices and drivers will work with Windows Vista prior to upgrading their operating system.

We are evaluating and working to determine our Windows Vista 64-bit strategy. With the release of VRS 4.1 SP2, we are working to identify any limitations with both the 32-bit and 64-bit Windows Vista operating systems.
