(Important TWAIN update available - click here for details) PLEASE NOTE: VRS 4.2 should be downloaded only by customers who previously have installed licensed versions of VRS 4.0 Plus or VRS 4.1 Professional. Customers currently using a licensed version of VRS 3.5 will need to purchase an upgrade to VRS 4.2 Professional (part number UP-0001-0004). Customers who have a licensed version of VRS 4.0 Standard or VRS 4.1 Basic installed can download VRS 4.2, but will see no change in available features; the only notable difference for VRS 4.2 Basic users is that VRS 4.2 Professional Desktop Productivity enhancements are accessible in demo mode. The VRS 4.2 TWAIN Update resolves a problem where TWAIN 1.9 standard features are not available with a TWAIN 1.9 scanning application if VRS 4.2 was installed over VRS 4.1. Once this update is installed over VRS 4.2, the features that support bar code recognition, endorsing, and compression formats will be available from a TWAIN 1.9 scanning application or interface. Kofax VirtualReScan Support

Kofax provides two types of support for all non-legacy VirtualReScan releases including General and OEM, as described below.

"No-Charge"
“No-Charge” support consists of Web-Based support that includes the Kofax Knowledgebase and the Kofax Customer Portal for both General and OEM releases of VRS.
"Fee-Based"
"Fee-Based" support via telephone from Kofax, is available for All General releases, Basic and Professional OEM releases of VRS. However, Basic OEM releases of VRS are first referred to the scanner manufacturer for 1st level support.
