This matrix lists the versions of 3rd Party Software Platform components that are supported for use with Kofax products. Kofax is committed to ensuring that our products work with these component versions and addressing issues that arise when our products are used in conjunction with them. Unless otherwise specified, we do not support the use of our product in conjunction with versions of software other than those listed in the Kofax Cross Product Compatibility Matrix. The Kofax Express 2.0 software, hardware, certified scanner, and image storage requirements are listed below.

Hardware

  • Processor: Dual core (Quad core for scanners supporting more than 70 duplex pages per minute)
  • Memory: 2 GB
  • Hard disk: 2 GB (7200 rpm)
  • Hard disk: Formatted for NTFS file system
  • Disk space for software installation: 350 MB (allow more space for scanned images)
  • Monitor resolution: 1280 x 1024

Certified Scanners

Kofax Express is certified with a wide range of industry-standard scanners, and new scanners are certified on a regular basis in the following license categories:

  • Kofax Express for Desktop or Workgroup Scanners: Supports throughput up to 50 duplex pages per minute (based on letter-size pages scanned in landscape mode).
  • Kofax Express for Low-Volume, Mid-Volume, or High-Volume Scanners: Supports throughput between 50 and 130 duplex pages per minute (based on letter-size pages scanned in landscape mode).

OCR Language Support

Your Kofax Express installation includes OCR language support for English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. If you require OCR support for other languages, use the Kofax Express - OCR Language Support installer, which is included with the other product files. You must complete the Kofax Express installation before running the supplemental OCR Language Support installer.

Image Storage

By default, Kofax Express stores images in the common application data folder within the Documents and Settings folder (or the ProgramData folder on a Windows Vista computer). Be sure to reserve sufficient disk space for scanned images. You can use the Job Setup tab in Kofax Express to set the batch path to the appropriate folder.

The Kofax Express Support group is comprised of a group (discussed on the Support Options Web page), whose members are knowledgeable in all aspects of the Kofax Express product, including installation, configuration, and operation. This group receives ongoing product training from our Engineering department relating to the general Kofax Express product and their specific areas of expertise.
