System Will Provide the Company with a Front Office Capture Platform to Streamline the Processing of Over 100 Million Shipping Documents Received Annually from Over 500 Sites Worldwide
IRVINE, Calif., January 27, 2010 – Kofax plc (LSE: KFX), the leading provider of document driven business process automation solutions, today announced it will provide a leading global freight transport and services company with an enterprise wide, capture enabled business process automation solution. The value of the contract to Kofax, including several years of maintenance services, is approximately $5.9 million.
The company will use the Kofax software to scan, classify, separate and extract data from over 100 million shipping documents received annually via paper, email and fax from over 500 sites worldwide. The resulting images and data will then be exported into the company’s content management repositories and ERP applications for further processing and archiving.
The Kofax solution was chosen after an extensive one year selection process, and will be rolled out globally in phases. This will enable the company to begin capturing shipping documents immediately while leveraging its existing centralized data centers. It will then expand its Kofax solution to capture those documents in front office environments using MFPs, digital copiers, desktop scanners and fax systems at any of its worldwide locations. As a result, the organization will reduce labor intensive, error prone manual tasks and achieve faster processing times, leading to significant cost savings, improved customer service levels and better compliance with data transit and security regulations in service level agreements.
