Tuesday, September 8th, 2009New VRS Tech Support Policy Begins August 3rd
Tuesday, July 21st, 2009Effective August 3, 2009, worldwide technical support via telephone for all versions of Kofax’s VRS will convert to a pay-per-incident (PPI) system. The fee to speak with a Kofax technical support agent will be $50 per incident, payable by credit card only. Those who pay the fee are entitled to an unlimited number of calls to Kofax technical support until their problem is resolved. If a VRS defect is found to be the cause of the problem, the PPI fee will be refunded.
The PPI fee applies no matter how VRS was obtained; whether bundled with a scanner, purchased separately through a reseller or downloaded from Kofax’s eCommerce site. The only exception is for Kofax (Ascent) Capture customers who have included VRS in their maintenance agreements.
Many of the VRS issues which prompt calls to Kofax technical support could be resolved by referring to the documentation that accompanies the product, or by consulting the free resources available on the Kofax website. These resources will continue to remain available at no charge after the VRS PPI system goes into effect. We encourage everyone to consult these resources before placing a call to Kofax’s technical support, as they contain a wealth of information which address the most common problems VRS customers encounter.
