Kofax recently completed certifying the KV-S1045C, high-speed full color workgroup scanner from Panasonic, for use with Kofax Express 1.1. The Panasonic KV-S1045C is rated at 40 pages per minute require the use of a Kofax Express v1.1 desktop license.

BBH Ngenuity Scanners Certified For Use With Kofax Express

ngenuity-side-viewBowe Bell + Howell’s recently introduced Ngenuity line of production scanners is now certified for use with Kofax Express v1.1.  Ngenuity models 9090 and 9125 will use a Kofax Express mid-volume production license, while the Ngenuity 9150 will use a Kofax Express high-volume production license.  BBH’s Ngenuity scanners are now certified for use with the latest versions of Kofax Capture, Kofax Express and VRS.

To use Kofax Express 1.1 with Ngenuity scanners, customers must install both Kofax Express and the free VRS 4.5 upgrade (available on the VRS downloads page), then install the free Ngenuity license upgrade patch (available on the Kofax Express downloads page).

Updated Kofax Express Scanner Certification and Licensing Guide Now Available

An updated version of the Kofax Express Scanner Certification and Licensing Guide is now available through the collateral link on the Kofax Express website.

In addition to adding several new scanners, the Guide revises the license required for over a dozen scanner models to a lower level.  To utilize these new Kofax Express license levels, users must download and install the free VRS 4.5 update found in the Support section of the Kofax website. VRS 4.5 Professional Now Available

vrs_paperinperfectionout_2008The most recent release of Kofax’s popular VirtualReScan image enhancement software, VRS 4.5 Professional, is now available.  Current VRS 4.1 and 4.2 Professional users can update their software at no charge from the VRS 4.5 Downloads page of the Kofax website.  Anyone using VRS 4.0 Plus must first upgrade to VRS 4.1 or 4.2 before installing the VRS 4.5 Professional update.

VRS 4.5 Professional features numerous image processing enhancements, improved TWAIN 2.0 compatibility, updated Advanced Clarity and ISIS user interfaces, and a new profile editor.  Full details are available in the documentation that is posted on the VRS 4.5 Downloads site.

Kofax recently completed certifying four new, high-performance scanners from Canon.  The Canon imageFORMULA DR-6010C (60 pages per minute), DR-6050C (65 ppm), DR-7550C (90 ppm) and DR-9050C (112 ppm) were all certified for use with the most recent version of VRS (4.2) and Kofax Express (1.1).  The DR-6010C, DR-6050C and DR-7550C will use a VRS workgroup-level license and an Express low-volume production license.  The DR-9050C requires a VRS production-level license and an Express mid-volume-level license.

Three of Kodak’s production scanners were certified for use with Kofax Express v1.1.  The i620 (80 pages per minute) and i640 (100 ppm) require the use of a Kofax Express v1.1 mid-volume license, while the i660 (120 ppm) requires a Kofax Express v1.1 high-volume license. 

Please note that although the Kodak i610, which does not scan in color, is VRS 4.2 Professional certified, it is not certified for use with Kofax Express.  However, Kodak’s other production scanners (i730, i750, i780, i1840, i1860) have all been Kofax Express certified.

Kofax recently certified two new Epson scanners, the WorkForce Pro GT-S50 and GT-S80, for use with Kofax Express.  These are the first Epson scanners to receive Kofax Express certification.

Both the GT-S50 (25 pages per minute) and GT-S80 (40 ppm) require a Kofax Express Desktop-level license.
