VRS
Product Support OverviewVRS 4.2 is the most recent release of the VirtualReScan (VRS) product.
Though the following VRS product is no longer supported, the support Web pages will continue to be available.
VRS 3.5 is the only release of VRS 3.x that is currently supported by Kofax Technical Support.
If you are currently using a registered copy of VRS 3.0, VRS 3.05, or VRS 3.1, you can upgrade your VRS product to VRS 3.5 at no charge. The VRS 3.5 program can be downloaded from VRS 3.5 Downloads page.
The current VRS OEM releases can be found in the VirtualReScan Scanner Certification list document (in PDF format). This list is updated on a regular basis.
Note: The scanners marked with a

symbol are scanners that ship with an OEM version of VRS. No additional purchase is required. The version of VRS included with the scanner is indicated in the Category column.
Kofax provides two different levels of support for its VirtualReScan product; General Support and OEM Support . The type of support a VirtualReScan customer receives depends upon which scanner their VRS product is used with. If the scanner uses a current non-OEM release of VRS, then Kofax Technical Support provides support. If the scanner uses a partner's OEM release of VRS, then support is provided by the scanner manufacturer.
The Kofax VirtualReScan (VRS) Technical Support group is skilled in all aspects of PC hardware compatibility, including Kofax controllers and drivers, SCSI adapters, and ISIS and TWAIN drivers.

Kofax has joined with many leading scanner manufacturers to provide a unique VRS solution for use in conjunction with specific offerings from their product lines. These VRS OEM versions are distributed by the scanner manufacturers for use with their specific VRS scanners. These VRS OEM releases are not intended to be used with any scanner make or model other than the ones they are distributed with.
First level support is provided by the scanner manufacturer for all VRS OEM products. Please check the list of VRS OEM products to identify where to obtain support and software updates a for your scanner and VRS OEM product before proceeding: VRS OEM Partner list.
